Here’s me in a nutshell

I’m a molecular biologist turned mindset & high-performance coach for ambitious, mission-driven entrepreneurs who want to shatter invisible ceilings and build their legacy.

 I’m a wife, mom of 2 kids and 2 cats, a runner, environmentalist, a cancer survivor, and a Top10 entrepreneurship podcast host.

I’m passionate about empowering other entrepreneurs so that they can ditch worry, self-doubt & overwhelm and become confident leaders and conscious creators of their dream lives.

How It All Started…

It’s been a bumpy road with a couple of defining moments that lead me to where I am now…

One was when I was fighting cancer and realized that I had spent so much of my life in fear and feeling helpless.

Now that I was facing a REAL life-or-death situation, I suddenly understood how much I had blocked myself from enjoying life.

By all objective standards, I had a successful life: Up to that point in my life, I had been very healthy, I had traveled the world, achieved a degree in molecular biology, and received a scholarship for a PhD project, I had a boyfriend, I had friends – and yet I was feeling alone, stressed, and like a fraud.

I was always busy and didn’t know how to relax.

Crazy as it sounds, being confined to a hospital bed for weeks gave me the break I needed to make some hard, but necessary choices.

Those would finally lead me to leave a long-term relationship that wasn’t working for me, leave a toxic work environment, and start on a new PhD project on the other side of the world (New Zealand).

Coming Full Circle

In New Zealand, I spent 3 years working on a project working with human brain cells and became FASCINATED by neuroscience!

I also met my husband and had our son over there. But since my scholarship and research funding had run out and I was pregnant with our daughter, we decided to go back to Germany to live closer to my family.

Those first years of being a new mom were very hard for me. Not only because of the physical pain and sleep deprivation but also because the experience was so different from what I had expected.

Once again, I was back to feeling helpless and stressed, and I was overwhelmed by all the unresolved childhood trauma that suddenly bubbled up that I hadn’t even been aware of before.

When it was time to think about going back to work, I knew I didn’t want to go back to doing lab work. I wanted to find something more flexible that allowed me to be there for my family.

So I started to try a few things online, like starting a blog and selling photos and images on print-on-demand websites – but I felt that something fundamental was missing and I found myself procrastinating and sabotaging myself.

I didn’t understand why I couldn’t make any progress and it was so frustrating! And then I got even more frustrated for getting frustrated…

Breaking The Cycle

Finally, I realized that being so far out of my familiar comfort zone, had again triggered a lot of unresolved issues that I didn’t know how to deal with:

Fear of failure, rejection, judgment, imposter syndrome – you name it!

And I realized something even more important: I wasn’t alone in this situation!

Everywhere I looked, people were consciously or unconsciously struggling with the same negative thought and behavior patterns!

Now while all this was super annoying – the scientist in me found also found it endlessly fascinating!

Why do we all struggle with similar things? What’s driving our behavior? I was hooked!!

And for the next years, I devoured all the information about mindset, neuroscience, behavioral science, psychology, and even quantum mechanics in a quest to understand how our minds and brains work.

What I’ve learned changed my life completely!

Those blocks I was experiencing did NOT mean that I was lazy, or stupid, or just not cut out for what I wanted to do – those blocks were merely an effect of old neuronal wiring that wasn’t serving me any longer.

What a relief, right?! As it turns out – you can ALWAYS change your mind and brain to create better experiences in your life!
